Default "Firehawk" catback + SES light question

Whats up everyone. I have an 02 firehawk that I picked up in the spring. I just recently did a Hooker L/T and TSP cat-y pipe installation, and I'm wondering about the catback. Did the firehawks come with upgraded catbacks standard? It doesn't look like the stock catback from my buddies 99 z-28. Essentially what I'm asking is am I OK to keep the current catback or is it worth upgrading? IMO it's a pretty quiet catback which is what I prefer (all my neighbors have really little kids). The pic below isn't my car but it's the same catback to give an idea.

Also, when I did the L/T install I deleted the rear 02 sensors. My SES light never came on though lol any thoughts on this?

You already have a SLP performance exhaust, It the Dual/Dual system.

even though this is in the wrong section I am sure your firehawk came with the upgraded SLP cat back exhaust. And for the SES light, it may come on due to not having your rear 02's plugged in. It is just a matter of time that it will come on or maybe not. A tuner can delete the codes from the PCM so the SES light won't come on.

As previously mentioned, you have SLP Dual/Dual Catback that was a special order option from the factory. Its said to be one of the best flowing catbacks for the 4th Gen F-bodies.

You're absolutely right when you say its very quiet, even with Headers and an aftermarket Y-pipe. My brother has the same catback on his 02 SS, with Jet Hot LTs and a TSP ORY and its just a tad bit louder than when it had factory manifolds and Y.

If I were you, I would definitely keep it on the car. If you were to install a different aftermarket catback, the most significant change would be to the sound of your exhaust. You would see a different tone and, depending on which you choose, the volume would almost definitely go up. All this and not much of a performance gain, if any.

Sounds like you have a perfect setup for your situation and you didn't have to do a bunch of trial and error to figure it out. You hit a homerun the first time up to bat. Good job, man.

And as for your lack of SES light, be patient. It'll show up eventually, but has no detrimental affect on performance. So ignore it as long as you can, and once you can't anymore, get an aftermarket tune.
