I am doing the LS6 PCV valley cover while the motor is apart for heads and cam. Since I have a 98 and need new center bolt valve covers for my new heads I am wondering if there is a valve cover/coil bracket setup that will fit the LS6 heads and not have the provisions for the old PCV setup that I will no longer need?
If so what year/cars were they on and the part numbers?
And even better does anyone have said covers and coil brackets available for sale!

 

I got mine off a 04 5.3 crate enginge ( if I remember correctly). They didnt have the provisions for the pcv.

 

There is no need to change anything. The line that connects the rear of both sides of the engine then Ys together and runs up to the side of the intake neck in the front needs to be deleted completely. Then you have 3 fittings that you must do something with. You can cap the 2 on the rear of the valve covers or run a hose and connect them together. Front of the intake neck is where the valley PCV connects to. Simple as pie.

 

I think I understand the routing of the lines before and after from looking at the writeup on LS1-how-to, but am trying to find a gm valve cover that is centerbolt and lacks the two provisions on the rear of the covers and just has that one nipple on the pass side that runs to the TB that I assume I need to retain.
I am assuming its any 04+ valve cover that lacks the connections in the rear since the valley cover that integrates the PCV is listed as 04+ LS6 ?

 

I have a set of 04+ valve covers in my living room at home...

the driver-side VC has a nipple (not a hole) at the rear, facing upward;
the pass-side VC has a nipple in front facing forward (toward TB).

When I install these, I was thinking to either cap off the rear nipple, or to T it to the front nipple (which will go to the TB).

 

Jegs/summit and other vendors sell the GM performance valve covers that have the oil fill hole and thats it. I think there 115 each, they say chevrolet on them.
