Default An issue with a Rollmaster timing chain

After the installation of a double roller timing chain, has anyone ever had the bolts (I am to frustrated right now to remember what the installer said) rub up against the back of the timing chain cover?

They cant unless the cam gear isnt installed right. Make sure the cam gear is fully seated ON the cam. Chack the dowel pin. I remember some haveing the dowel pins too big and had to shave some off of it.

Mine went in without a hitch. No problems with it. He is right, the the bolts cant rub the timing cover unless the cam gear is installed grossly wrong, in which case the engine wouldnt turn over anyways. Its a really nice timing set, no slack whatsoever in the chain unlike the stock. Make sure you get the heat-treated set with the torrington bearing.

I've got one too without any problems. If you plan to run an ASP pulley though, I don't think the chain with the torrington bearing will fit with the pulley. Atleast, this is what I've always read.

On the LS1 Corvettes it is a problem and you have to have the pulley machined a bit. However on the F-body, there should be no problems

Where exactly is it rubbing. I just had the same problem. An SLP pump and a rollmaster timing set. I could not get the darn thing to sit against the face of the block. After grinding here and ther I found that it was on the oil pump. Towards the top of the pum on the drivers side there is a bulge or whatever you want to call it. I ground it a little bit and a little on the timing cover. Everything was seated properly. I was going nuts, I can't imagine that this only has happened to me.
