Doing cam swap .. opinions?
I am looking at getting one of these cams (both are Lunati grinds):
230/237 .544 .543 112 LSA
222/230 .534 .544 112 LSA
The reason for low lifts is that I don't want to have to change valve springs a lot. I have an A4 with a vig 3200 stall/3.42 gears, SLP longtubes, LS6 intake, X-pipe.
I figure the long duration on these cams will let more air in (leaving the valves open longer) without having to go with a high lift cam with longer duration. I am also planning on not changing my stock heads out for a while, so optimum lift on the stock heads is, I guess, limited to around .550.
I know there is the TR 224 cam, but I was wondering...what are your opinions on such a mild lift cam with long durations???
