I've been researching the L33 engine and I've seen many suggestions of using an LS6 z06 cam and even an LS7 z06 cam to make more power. The only caveat being you have to be use stronger valve springs and with the LS7 you have to do a bit more modification.
I was wondering if anybody had any idea what kind of power each of these cams would make in an L33. I'm especially interested in an LS6 cam swap because that seems to be the easiest. I'm just looking for a ball park number.

I am looking at doing the same thing. Just gotta do some searching...i know there is tons of info on this forum already. I am using the LS1 intake and TB and i would say after the ls6 cam and tuning it should be around 350hp

Well from what i have been able to find out so far is that no matter what cam you put in it, you should upgrade the valve springs to at least the LS6 springs or aftermarket. It appears that a LS7 cam will not work because they have a different sprocket bolt pattern. Cams from. LS1, LS2, LS6 will work.
When reading up on cams for a LS1, the GM hotcam looks like a good cam that might not be too much for the 5.3. Anybody that knows more than me about cams want to shed some light on how much is too much for the 5.3
