Default oil flow direction

I wanted to make sure i knew which way the oil goes through the filter before I installed my sandwich plate with check valve.

from this diagram i found on google,

so according to it, oil enters the outside of the filter, and returns back to the engine from the center of the filter.

I just wanted confirmation on this.
thanks

For sure check when you buy new oil filters that they ARE NOT ECore designs<fkn garbage! I seen a few with holes through the filter media after use. In one case the media blocked the oil passage and toasted the motor. When you look inside a ecore filter you will see a black plastic cage instead of the normal metal cylinder with holes in it. Another important thing to check on oil filters is the threads, they should be rolled threads NOT CUT threads. All the new Ac delco filters are Ecore with cut threads!<fkn garbage!
