Default Piston rings for build with stock pistons?

For you pros and people with experience, need some advice. Im building an LS1 with the stock rotating assembly, what rings should I use? Im going for reliability/longevity.

Thinking about these, but wanted to hear some opinions before I buy.

Those are plasma-moly rings, which are intended for nitrous / boost builds, which is not an application for stock pistons. GM offers new stock rings that're good for 300,000 miles in GM's own testing.

We can get some GM replacement rings or there is a set of Seal Power rings if I'm not mistaken they are $120. We can get you setup either way.

Perfect Circle makes a ring set for stock LS1 bore sizes for ~$100. You can do 3.898" or 3.908" if you wanna file fit them.

Thanks guys. Should I wait until I have the cylinders honed to determine which ones I need? If not I guess Ill get the stockers.

How are you honing the block?

Usually honing will increase the bore size and may make it too big for stock pistons. In which case, you'll need oversized pistons as well as rings.
