Default Next mod, internal or bolton???

Hi guys, Im new here, changed over from ls1.com. I have a 99z with 3.23's, Lt's, ture duals, lid, ram air mod, ported TB, and a frost tune. The car will have an ls6 intake on it in about a week and Im thinking of getting 3.73's also. I daily drive this car around 100miles a day. It gets about 300-320 miles per tank now. It has a stock auto trans, engine, and rear. Im looking to get more pull on kickdown at say 60-70 on up through the range. Its not a quarter mile car by any means but making that aspect of it faster isnt a bad thing either. I was looking at some stock 799 heads and a small cam that isnt going to kill mileage. Id rather keep the stock stall and go with something like the tsp 224 or 228 cam on 114lsa or larger if thats possible on the stock converter, If not a descent stall could be possible, but keep in mind I have to run street tires suited for the rain so a 5000 stall would probably only make take off more difficult without some sort of drag radial.. I dont know if the 799 or 243 heads are really worth the 350 price tag and then all the hardware to install them, or if getting the stockers ported would be close to, if not just as good. I have about 2k to spend if that helps decide. If I missed anything let me know please, Thanks.

You don't have to go as drastic as a 5000 stall. Go with a 3000-3600. That will work for the cam you are looking at getting, as well as make the car a lot more fun do drive. Just my .02 cents.

yeah, I was exagerating a lil bit. Im assuming the 799 heads or ported stockers is not the way to go right now, at least for the money? What brand stall is good. I know yank and precision are good but for 900 the damn well better be. I was thinking tci, or????? Is there a different cam that will be ALOT BETTER than the factory one that dosent require a stall? What about the gear change? Any other ideas???

Well you can go as small as z06 cam from the LS6 but with all that trouble of taking everything off from the pulley all the way down to the cam might as well go bigger, not necessarily MS4/MS3 bigger but bigger. But it (z06 cam) is better than the stock cam to say the least.

As far as Stall, you don't want to skimp on a excellent/proven stall converter. I had yank with my car when it was an auto and the size was 3500 and it was really well mannered on the street when you get it tuned.
