Default Fuel Delivery Systems

Hi all,

First time poster.

Just had my 5.7 LS1 engine rebuilt and ran it for 5 minutes to check for leaks temperature etc. Now it is ready to go to get dyno tuned.

Motor has had extensive work including Scat Rods, Forged Pistons, Roller Rockers and a Lunati Voodoo Camshaft 232/238.

Running a 3500 lock up convertor and 3.9 gears.

Question i have, is post dyno which i will have the car back next 48 hours, is when do i know if i need to upgrade fuel injectors, pumps etc?

Is there a general rule of thumb for what HP you need to upgrade?

Thanks

Jamie

your probably on the verge of maxing out your stock injectors as it sits, your tuner should be able to tell you more about it. I would think your stock pump should be fine as long as you dont make over 400hp with it. An A/F guage is a good idea to keep an eye your fuel system to make sure you dont run out of fuel.

Thanks for the update.

Can i ask what size are the std fuel injectors and what would be the better option going upwards?

Engine builder was conservative and indicating around 280-300KW at the treads. (Nearly 400HP).

Hoping for more, but guaranteed it will drive nicely

Stock ones are anywhere from 24-28lb. Im running FIC 37lb injectors (4bar) about equal to the ford 42lb injectors a lot of people run, but about $100 cheaper.

Thanks.....

Will see how he goes with the running in on the motor.

I also have the added complexity, running LPG, which is also directed injected.
