Default Teflon Coating internals

I am putting this back up. After searching I did not find any conclusive evidence.

Does anyone have Teflon coating done to internals. I know there are people that have trans and diff gears and shafts done. I actually just sent out a bunch of trans and diff stuff for my motorcycle as recommended by my mechanic.

I notice they offer coating of engine internals and was thinking about getting my cam and retainers done when the time comes. Anyone else have anything like this done?

I have no idea about this stuff, but i don't think you could coat your cam in anything seeing as measurements are specific down to thousandths and ten-thousandths. Retainers, maybe, but I don't think you need to. Just get good, quality stuff and never worry about it again. Hope this helps!

Teflon coating of bearings and piston skirts is fairly common....other than that, I don't know. Never heard of coating a cam, but who knows?

Hello , they claim that the coating on various parts is 1/2 a micron thick . And a micron is 1/25 of .001 of an inch . I've got some stuff in cans "tungston disulfide . They say it holds up to 300,000 psi as compared with 200,000 with the teflon . This product costs $20 a 13oz can or You can buy it in powder form. You can coat parts , buff it into parts and/or just mix it with engine oil . I have'nt used it yet so no first hand knowledge/experience yet .
