Default Oil Pan questions

So today i took my engine out to do some work on my K-member and do some other stuff. Well i found my oil leak. Coming from the Oil pan gasket. I got a new GM gasket. When i took off the oil pan this is what i found. A crack in a hole. This is right above the oil filter. Not sure what happened here. The engine came off a 2000 camaro. Not sure what the history is and there is also some rivets on the oil pan gasket. Do i need to drill them out and replace with some new rivets? One more thing, Is there a part# for the gasket right above the oil filter? Thanks

Joey J.

Sorry, not seeing your "crack". Buy a new gasket and use a torque wrench to install the pan. Yes, the small adapter has a gasket (don't have the part number), but make sure there's a plug in the fitting. I don't recall Camaro's having that particular fitting, only Corvettes with an oil temp sensor...

Casting flash, just finish drilling/grinding it out so it doesn't come loose and get in the bearings. Nothing to worry about...
