Open headers bad for exhaust valves? QTP with QTECS?

Open headers bad for exhaust valves? QTP with QTECS?
I was thinking about running the QTP headers with the dual cutouts in the y-pipe which are located about 18 inches after the primaries. But someone just told me that running open headers like that is really bad for the engine especially the exhaust valves. Anyone have any insight on this? I figure with 430rwhp, the open headers should add an additional 10-15rwhp vs. a single cutout after the I-pipe. You think? How bad will low-end torque or overall power be effected? They would only be used when racing so after the launch it shoudn't mattter cause the rpm's wont go below 4500 rpm. Am I right?

It won't affect the lowend very much with 18" extensions, and it is just fine to run your car like that as far as exhaust valves go. Can't vouch for the local law enforcement though

That way it won't be too loud and I can close it for silence. I can just open the cutouts a little for more than stock sounding muffler.

I run my 408 with 2 open cutouts on the y-pipe all the time... I was stopped at a light one time and a cop stopped at the back of my car to check out my hooker exhaust...
