Default Bldg. a motor...

Im looking to build a motor, I bought a 98 LS1 from a buddy of mine. (It spun a main bearing). Im looking for some insight on what would be the best to build. I have been reading alot about the 427.. But not so sure about a resleved block bored that thin... Im not in any hurry B/C the motor in my car still runs great. I just wanted to build something to replace mine with in the future.. any suggestions or info would be great

I would deffinatly build an allbore or a 427 with Darton sleeves. They will withstand any abuse you can dish out. I have seen them handle 1000+hp with a turbo.

It all depends on what you are building to motor for. If you want to most power n/a, the 427 is the way to go. The Darton wet sleeve blocks seem to be trouble free. Haven't heard of any problems with it. If you plan on boosting the engine, I personally would go with a forged 346.
