Yes , you will need to check it with the heads you are planning on using, There are multiple cams you can use for stock heads, YOU need to take into account all of the mods you have, or plan on having BE REALISTIC... Alot of sponsors can get you a cam that will work with NO PTV issues, Degreeing a cam is always a good Idea, I have degreed almost everyone I have ever done, However, I have never had one that was not correct though. And Yes when you put the cam in, Install it straight up, it will be cut with the advance in it anyways more than likely.
Hope this helps..
as far as what cam for you,, There are about 1 million posts ont his site with that very question, The selection is up to you.

Yes it does bolt to the crank, degreeing the cam in the car may prove to be difficult, You will not be able to use your bolt with the balancer on. You have to find top dead center, and then zero the wheel, You may have difficulties reading the wheel. I have degreed plenty, but never in the car, always on a stand. I am sure you could do it. You need the degree kit. Comp cams degree kit is the one I got from summit YEARS ago, it even came with a video showing exactly how to do it.
