Default Another which cam thread? 4 choices

Going into a stock 241 headed 02 ls1 with a t56.....which is going into a 89-93 mustang coupe. Car is going to be a mainly street car but will be taken to the strip a few nights out of the summer. Dont mind it not being a daily driver type cam. Here are the choices I have narrowed it down to in the order of which I have in mind and I do NOT want to flycut. Hoping for 420rwhp with ls6 intake and kooks long tubes, dont plan on doing an underdrive at the moment. Car will have a minimum of 4.10s.

EPS 236/248 .615 .615 110lsa

Vindicator 240/244 .605/.596 112lsa

MS4 239/242 .649 .610 not sure on which lsa

Polluter 24x/24x .61x .61x 112lsa

MS or a RapTR.

Or this one from Cam Motion:
C33-771 LS Hydraulic Roller Camshaft; 236'/240', .612"/.612", 114'+4'; 2,800 to 6,800 RPM

Any particular reasons over the cams above, i reallly had it narrowed down to them from the research ive done. The EPS cam is top of list due to everyone saying how is it is on the valvetrain and such.

I would contact Geoff at EPS like said above or patrick G on here. Given that it's going to be a light notch back i would go with a bigger cam. especially if you're saying it's going be getting some steeper gears. get rid of the 241's when you can and step up to the 243's especially when going with a bigger cam. cams in the 24x on the intake should be in your alley.

expected race weight?

As a tidbit, Thunder and Cam Motion will custom spec you a cam as well.

Yea 243s or aftermarket heads and a FAST down the road are the plan, possibly hit it with a plate kit for 100-150 shot for the rare occasion.

Im a big guy(6'4" 285) so raceweight will prolly be 3150lbs or so with full interior. Should be a fun ride compared to my 4150 raceweight in the cadillac with less power on motor lol. I shouldnt have a problem pulling the cadillac on the bottle with the cammed notch.

I just put a very similar cam in my car, only difference is it's a 111 lsa +2, as soon as I get my longer pushrods I can get it back together.

IMO, go with the EPS (or have EPS custom spec a grind) since it's at the top of your list, and there's a good chance you'll need to fly-cut anyway.

Best thing to do is call the shop you are interested in doing business with and getting a custom camshaft made.

EPS 236/248 .615 .615 110lsa

MS4 239/242 .649 .610 not sure on which lsa

Polluter 24x/24x .61x .61x 112lsa

Between those i would opt for the Vindicator. I would probably run the MS3 instead of the MS4.

i share the same opinion ! For a factory motor is not much of a difference from a proven cam to custom one. Unless you ad heads , intake ,etc.

All the original cam choices are much too large.

I would go with a COMP LSL lobed 223/231 or 227/231(listed above) .600-.617 lift

I would give Josh at Spartan Performance a call. He could spec you a custom cam for the same price as the other guys(cam motion, eps, ect.). He got me the perfect cam I was looking for and after almost a year with it, I still love my cam.

You're looking for something more aggressive, but still easy on the valve train for a street car. Let Josh hook you up he's got over 10+ years of experience with modifying LS engines.
