Default priming engine

i just finished having my ls1 rebuilt. added prc 2.5 5.3l heads, 228r, ls7 lifters, pushrods as well as new pistons and all bearings. everything has been well lubed but how do you prime the engine before the first fire? can you just pull the plugs n turn it over with the starter? hand crank it?

Pull the connections at each coil bracket, theres 2, not the individual spark plug wires. Pull the fuel pump fuse under the hood.

It might be easier to pull the INJ1 and INJ2 fuses, these power the ignition coils and fuel injectors.

Pull the 2 white connectors on the coil brackets. You could pull fuses but what if you happen to pull the wrong one? Pulling the connectors is dummy proof. I just fired up my car last weekend for the first time in at least 5 months. I cranked it over about 5 times and when i started it it wasnt loud and you couldnt hear any ticking and oil pressure went up to 55 psi almost immediately.

I just unpluged the two white connectors then turned the motor over for a couple of seconds two or three times then I saw the oil pressure needle move so I stopped and repluged the white connectors and fired it up.

I just turn the key... the starter drives the flywheel which drives the crank which turns the oil pump.
