ok so i got me a lq9 stock 317 heads and gaskets. Will i need to fly cut the pistons for my ms4 cam out of my ls1. It was fine in the ls1 no issues. I know i should check it just trying get an idea before i do it.

It will clear with about the same clearance as you had on the stock LS1 long-block. We definitely always recommend checking piston to valve clearance to ensure you are good though....if your timing set is off on a cam that big by just a few degrees, you can end up with piston to valve contact!
