Default Flycut pistons needed?

I am planning on installing a 228R cam as well as a set of patriot heads that have been milled to 58cc (ls1 castings)

Would I need to flycut the pistons?

I would probably use a .052-.055 compressed gasket.

The cam is a 228/228 .588/.588 114lsa

Motor is a Stock LS1

Thanks

Jay

Do the heads have larger valves? That is a lot of milling for an LS1 casting. We always recommend checking your piston to valve but I would think you have to flycut on this type of setup.

As far as I know they are stock sized valve's....I decided to skip on the deal and just wait and line a set of heads up proper for my setup. I dont wanna get into building another shortblock after my last car!

Basically seeing if I could get a cam like the 228r on a 115lsa...I want a cam that will be turbo friendly for future upgrades

Yeah you can. I would just have to get comp to grind it and then send it straight to you. Usually takes between 1-2 weeks.
