LS2 'dimpled' rods in LS6?
I have decided to go the E85 route in building my Crate LS6.
I have been told by a very reputable local engine builder that my LS6 crate motor will have the LS2 full floating rods rather than the LS1 pressed in rods as I believed.
The motor is sitting in the garage (still in the crate) but I dont want to tear it apart just yet, (I will have the shop do that anyway).
My motor is an 04 model year LS6 (one of the SDPC motors CtV-s version)
My understanding is the LS2 "dimpled" rods are considerably stronger than the LS1 variety.
I am building the motor to 500+ RWHP on E85 (Fast 102 intake, likely trick flow 215's or tea 2.5's) TrRaptor cam 232/615,Kooks 1 7/8s, probably 14:1 compression.
If the rods are LS2 type (Hooray!!! - more money for heads!!!)
Anyone know which rods came with 04 LS6?

No one?
P.S. - I read the stickie's and no mention of this.
The engine builder showed me a set of rods he took from a stock LS1 and another he got out of a stock "real" LS6.
The Dimpled rods were night and day different "besides being full float"
Guess I may have to wait to and be suprised on tear-down.
