Default help me decide?

so after i did some bolt ons (in sig) i decided that i need more power! car is smooth fast and works wonder but its not enough to keep up with others..so i thought a cam is my best bet. its a 1998 A4 with 129K miles on the clock with perfect oil pressure temp and all. i DD the car at rate of ~ 12K miles a year which is not so bad. anyway ive done some research and decided to go with comp 220\220 it has a lift of 0.581 as i "read" its good for a DD car with stock stall and idles pretty smooth and almost stock like, exactly what am looking for.

my questions are:

1-springs to use with this setup? i know 918s are the most popular for this amount of lift. but i found texas speed 0.675 lift at a cheap price "new" is it fine to use them with stock retainers and locks?

2- is a bigger stall must for this cam? am going to rebuild my tranny before installing the cam and i do not have a lot of money to spend on a stall.

3-am going with ls6 oil pump. timing chain and pushrods. what else do you suggest?

4- what LSA should i buy for a stealthy idle? we have no emissions here but id rather be on the safe side. i want the minimum amount of lopes.

sorry for the long story above any suggestions are welcomed thanks.

Being an auto, do you have a stall? I would definitely run a 36-4000 stall for sure. I have a 3200 stall, and 3.73 and definitely can step up to a bigger stall. I would honestly go with a bigger cam. I have never rode in a cammed car, and my cam is a 230 duration cam. I can DD no problem at all. I would atleast go with a TSP 233/239. That is a good size cam.

who and how will it be tuned.you mite be able to use a TSP 224r cam pkg at 114lsa.look at compcams latest cam quest ,it will let you try different cams to see what power they make and where they make it.consider 54-455-11,or 54-408-11.

I wouldn't waste my time with a cam that small.

To answer your question about the 220/220 cam, yeah you can use the stock stall (I personally wouldn't), but you probably won't get the most out of it.
