3-4K Engine build help please

Default 3-4K Engine build help please

I have a 2000 LS1 swap that i have had sitting in my garage for 5 years. It is finally time to get it ready to put into my 68 camaro.

So since you guys know way more then I do I going to ask for some help. I have about 3-4K to spend on my engine and I want to get at least 500+HP out of it. Motor has 60K and I have never heard it run. Should I rebuild it (or run it as is with 60K)and add heads, cam, fast intake, etc? Or should I sell it and use my extra money to buy a better motor? Also, the 3-4K will need to include labor since I cannot rebuild it myself.

Car will only be driven on weekends and to car shows so i dont mind a huge cam or wild idle.

If I do a cam and head swap is there any proven combo that anyone has done and want to share your build story? Thanks for the help.

take ur block get tha refreshed.. spend ur money on a nice set of heads.. and get a custom cam ur gonna b pretty close to ur goal.. give or take more about 450hp
