243 head questions..

243 head questions..

Hey everyone so I just picked up a set of non sodium filled valved 243s and had a few Qs..I'm running a stock block with most likely a eps cam which id like to get specd around the same as a cheaTR v3 which is 219/230 on 117 with around 595/605 lift I believe.

The heads are stock untouched and basically look new I'm going to get bowl work done and was recommended by the machinist to just take off .02....how much should I have taken off and which gaskets should I go with?

Also what valve stem seals should I use? I'm going to swap my prc duals over from my stock heads..

mls cometic gaskets! and as far as ur cam goes.! go big or go home like ur boy chevyman says !

I just took off .20 on mine, with a stock gasket you should be at 11 to 1 CR.

Lol don't need to go big. Been there done that..ok how much can I do with my came then?

Happen to know the part number on stock gasket you used? And what size cam? Thanks

you are Cali you must need a emission cam?contact Patrick-G on this forum for great power.he will advise you on milling and head gasket thickness.

Correct. I am planning on going through him or just straight to eps but good point on going through him first and finding out what's best. What about seals?
