Default valve seals calling all engine experts

I am about at my wits end with valve seals. I did a head swap and replaced all the valve seals and the new seals have been failing. They are not holding to the valve guide and are creeping up and then the retainers are hitting them, at least thats what it seems. The guides measure .500 and the seal i have been using are for
.500x8mm so i dont see why they would be failing. I cant figure what i am doing wrong and what is causing this, it appears they are not holding to the guide. The old seals were a higher profile then these and didnt fail so i know it isnt retainer to seal clearance. Any info or help would be appreciated, thank you.

I use a 12mm socket and tap them down until they stop.

I thought the seals for LS engines have the spring seat intergrated, they should move at all unless there torn off the spring seat. I might be wrong.

No you are right, thats the stock seals but when you run dual springs those dont work so there are other types that are just the seals.

the early style seats had them built in but the later design had them separated with upgraded springs you will have to run the separated design. As for the method thats what I did. Im not really sure what to tell you. Maybe tap them down harder? Ill have to hand this one off to someone with a little more knowledge

Yeah it is definitely frustrating. May i should try making sure the guides have no oil on them at all when i put the seals on.

yeah you could try that. I might get chewed for this but maybe you could put a little silicone or something on the inside to make them a little sticky. You have a problem that Ive heard of but it seems somewhat rare
