Great information. I'll def read the info In the link. I was thinkin about the ls6 but To me it seems silly to drop $300-400 for the ls6 when 5-6 months later I'll be storing the car for the winter and as soon as march returns it'll b getting the fast 102...sure I could sell the ls6 and do another install when I get the fast but I don't think it'll b worth the 15hp Imma gain from he ls6 and the labor/cost of supplies needed to do the job. Between the cam and 4.10 gears I think that'll give me that **** eating grin factor you were talking about until the spring. Even with my ls1 intake. Would you agree? I've been seeing ppl make more power with the 5.3 stage 2.5 heads over the ls6 stg 2.5 and they are cheaper and you get a bump in compression. So I think I'll go with those instead of the ls6's when I buy the fast combo.

Well I called up Texas-speeto see what they recommendedi believed I spoke with John and he pointed me in the right direction. I told himhat I wanted ante recommended the torquer v3 cam like previously mentioned. I told him tha I thought the operating range of that cam would be too much for the street and for what I'm wantin and he informed that they have redone those cams recently to give them a broader operating and he said with the 4.10 gears with a 111LSA and a tune that cam would be great for the street. He said alot of local daily drive cars with that cam and people were very happy with em. So I'll b going with that cam. now I just have to do the waiting game . If I wasn't goin on a cruise in may, I'd order it here in a few weeks lol. can't wait! Thanks again for all the help and thanks to Texas speed.

I think the TSP 233/239 is a good choice. It would probably be the biggest cam i would run in a daily driver. I wouldnt go smaller than a 232/234.

Im still new to the game of cams as well, but as that goes. If youre going to do heads, go to a bigger cam. If youre like me and live on a tight budget(wife), you can get away with a v2 and be good. TSP is great for information on that.

When I do this cam swap, im just going to do a mail order tune to hold menoff until I put heads and intake on it in the spring time. Should I send the PCM out like a week prior to the cam install that way when I get done I can hook it up and go. Or just do the cam swap then send the computer out...?

Imho those mail in tunes are just base line tunes, pretty much to get ya to where ya can get a real tune,I would search for a good shop in your area that works with ls cars and see what they charge to tune it,what's a mail in cost these days?I think its over 200 ,200 you could put towards a good tune,

And I would just get a ls6 intake for now,you will never lose money getting a ls6,there 300 bucks all day, yeah with a cam you will gain still with the ls1 intake on,but you are gonna leave a lot on the table ,the ls1 intake straight sucks lol, take some advice get a ls6 and port your tb your self (its a easy mod to do)put the cam in and get a real tune, then next year just sell your intake and tb and put it towards the other mods you want to do,that's just what I would do man,you will be a lot happier in the long run,I know this crap is not cheap, but its always gonna cost more than ya think it is,and its always better to do it right the first time around
