Is my pushrod length in the ballpark?
Is my pushrod length in the ballpark? Just got done measuring my pushrod length last night and just want to double check to make sure it seems in the ball park. Setup is:
799 heads milled .030
GM MLS gasket
XER cam
ls7 lifters
After torquing down the heads and the rocker I got just a tad over 9 turns with the comp cams pushrod length checker. That gives me 7.25 plus .100 for lifter preload (seems to be what everyone aims for with ls7's) gives me a 7.35 pushrod. That falls into one of the commonly used lengths and I'm 99.99% sure it's right, just making sure it seems right for this setup...mainly with the milled heads.
