Default need help with high idling engine

i cant get the idle to calm down on my car.... its causing my trans to overheat and stack shift i believe as well. the idle on the car is set at 850 on the computer but it idles at about 1200-1300 rpm i just put a new top end gasket kit (intake) could this be a vacuum leak? what is the vacuum suppost to run at? i got a small cam a 224 224 114 with long tubes and intake i need some help cant get the pos back to right

it very well could be a vaccume leak it also could be the tune. Have you put it on some form of scanner so you can see whats going on?

A high idle usually means a vacuum leak.

i know your not suppost to but i put a little either in the engine bay no pick up on the idle... i just got the computer back from the tuner he had previously tuned it for the kid i bought the car from so i just had him check it just to make sure and everything checks out i didnt wanna get to much either in the engine bay so im going to wait until i can get some propane or a can of wd40 i guess ill have to see what happens
