Default more rocker torque questions

Sorry I know this topic has been beating to death, this is my first time and this is real important to get right

Stock everything-I was checking for bent PRs
I torqued (22 ft lbs) down my rockers when the cylinders were individually at tdc by there firing order. I did not rotate the engine an re check the torque.

I started it up an it started chattering instantly so I shut it off quick, should I let run for a minute to see if it quiets down? They were all torqued down when the cam was on base circle

I'm done for the night and will take work on it again tomorrow to re torque

I know I should have followed the gm procedures but I didn't for other reasons.

Well If I were you I would re-torque them to gm standard as you stated you had not for other reason's unless it is not possible for some reason. Why did you have the rockers off? did you do a cam swap or is the only reason just to check the push rods?

Let it run for a few minutes & see if it quiets down. It takes time for oil to re-fill the top end.

if you torqued them on the base circle you don't need to rotate and retorque

When i did my cam swap, it took maybe 10 seconds for all the noise to go away.

There is no adjustment in the stock rocker, if you followed the tightening procedure correctly (and it sounds like you did) there is another issue.
