On a stroked out 408 would there be any benefits under 6500 rpm

With today's high tech valve train options is there any need for a solid roller on a street strip car

no, not for 6500.

6500 is about the crossover point.

You would pick up some sub 3500 or so power, but not really needed w/4" stroke and street tires.

I beg to differ. If you can afford it, do it as long as its not something you put a lot of miles on.
