Default mechanical gauge hook up

can someone tell me where i can hook a mechanical gauge on my lq4. I swapped it in my camaro but I m not reading any oil pressure so i m a bit concerned. I damaged the plugged when i pulled the last motor but thought i repaired it. Anyway want to double check i m just hoping i dont have to pull my intake to get to the oil sending unit. Wondering if their is an auxiliary port i can hook up to. Thanks in advance

I figured out what I did wrong. I didn't use the green oring. So my next question is can drop the oil pan with the engine in the car?

Yes. But its still a pain. You'll have unbolt the crossmember and unbolt the engine mounts, pick the motor up and you should have room.

That's what I thought. Well beats pulling the front of the motor apart again

IIRC All you have to do on the front is the water pump and balancer really. Then lower the pan enough to reach the bolt and o ring. Do yourself a favor and stuff a clean rag in the pan opening before you mess with the bolt. That way if you drop it you wont need to get the pan out. Ls1howto.com has a good write up this.

I was able to remove the oil pan completely without touching the engine mounts but I have a BMR k-member and I didn't care if I bent the pickup out of spec with the bottom of the pan (SB replacement).

There is a write up about removing the oil pan by jacking up the engine and removing the motor mounts bolts on here as well. It even has detailed pictures, etc.
