Default Answer this question about cam install...

I'll soon be installing my TR230..

I currently have:

Comp Cam Valve Springs 918's
TR Hardened Pushrods (on the way)
Comp Cam Titanium Retainers (on the way)

My buddy told me that with hardend pushrods I would need NEW GUIDE PLATES (is this true)

He also said that I would need new lifters.. If these last two statements are true.. what would you guys recommend for lifters and the guide plates.. by that I mean what brand..

Thanks

LS1's dont have guideplates, you dont need them. As for lifters, unless you want to pull the heads off (which is a much bigger job than a cam swap) the stock lifters will have to do. 99% of everybody on here uses stock lifters, so unless you are going with a crazy cam, don't worry about it.

I'm assuming your buddy doesnt have an LS1.
