If you can't sort this out, you may want to put a machinest's straight edge across the block and the heads and check for flatness. How is the surface finish?
all the pistons looked pretty much the same. we didnt check for flatness. the leak was coming from in front of the number 2 at the bottom corner of the head. we used scotchbrite pads to clean the deck surface.

Not sure how you ended up with a blown head gasket, are you sure the surfaces were well prepped? don't worry at all about the spring, we can zip you out a replacement spring in no time flat! We've had great luck with the new v2 of the .675" spring. My bet is somehow that one must have just been goofy from the start.

Call us Monday and I'll make sure we get you a new one to get you guys back in high gear!

im pretty sure we prepped the deck properly. we scrubbed the surface till it looked new. i think that were gonna have to send the head back to be looked at i wanna make sure that the valve guide and seat are still good. the valve stem is bent too. is that possible?

Probably just a bum spring....I'm sure TSP will make it right....good people
over there !! Thankfully you were running duals so you only need to clean
up(dubur) the piston instead of searching for a replacement shortblock.
The head gasket issue is wierd though....is it possible that although the deck
surface was clean perhaps some coolant was still in the bottom and gave a
false torque on that one bolt ????
Hope it all works out....sounds like a beast of a combo

i guess that it is possible but i blew all bolt holes out and chased all threads multiple times.

its a pretty good combo. we raced a c6 with intake and exhaust 35-120 and pulled about 2 cars on him. were looking to get an ls6 intake and do a little more tuning and then it will be a lot better

i think this is what happened....looking at the gasket it is not damaged in any way, and there was only a little bit of coolant dripping from the one corner....the car itself does not have any coolant in the oil.

Texas Speed has always taken care of me, i am goingto call them monday and see what I need to do to get the car back on the road
