Too much cam?

Too much cam? Would the TR224/224 114LSA be to much cam for stock heads and manifolds? I have a SLP y and a QTEC but cannot go with LT's due to no CARB #'s. So would that cam be overkill? Would the TR220 be better for stock heads and manifolds?
Re: Too much cam? My understanding is any lift over .550" is wasted with stock heads. A lot of people use the MTI B1 with stock heads. Or if you want the 224 duration, there is a Comp Cams 224/224 .533/.533 113 LSA.
Re: Too much cam? Everyone says wasted over .550 lift. I am skeptical about that. Tang_TA on this board and EFA has the 224/581 112 lsa cam from speed inc. He put down 399 to the wheels while tuning himself with Edit.
