I guess I could have the machine shop do that while I get it bored and honed. Right?

Yup...I got lucky, on my GTO, the bracket is alitttle different so I didn't need the extra bolt...check because you might not either

never use budget when you are building a motor. when i finally finished my 408 i was double what i planned

That's what I'm saying. Anyone know if 800 bucks is reasonable to get a block magged, cleaned, bored, honed, and cam bearings installed?

My machine shop bill is going to be right around $2,700
Bore
Line bore
Turn crank
Deck block
Cook and clean
Mill heads
Test and set spring pressure
Valve job

8 4.030 coated 12.4:1 flat top pistons and rings
1 rod
Bearings

I think may as well just buy a new block so all I have to pay fir is the .030 bore

Just lq4 or both 4 and 9? I forgot that price included balancing the rotating assembly so i guess the price is pretty good for all that.

it was my understanding that an LQ9 was an LQ4 and the only difference was higher compression pistons on the LQ9

Danny its as budget as I can get considering im going with untouched cylinder heads and a stock intake.

Decided if im taking my motor out I may as well slap a turbo on rather than do it all again down the road.
