Default What should I do?

So I ended up dynoing my car today and made 405HP and 366TQ.
Now the horsepower bug bit me right in the *** after this and now Im thinking should I go with stroking out the ls1 to 408/427? or just saying **** it and go with something a little bigger like a 6.0l longblock etc?

Trying to figure out whats going to be the best bang for buck while reaching my goal of 550 to the wheels NA(i know expensive), and being a little reasonable with price... Open to suggestions! Thanks all!

I believe you can only stroke a ls1 to a 383. If you want a 408 you will need a 6.0 block to start. Now trying to make 550 to the wheels is gonna take a lot of money if you want to all motor. You can always just do a 383 with a decent head/cam and be around 450-475ish rear wheel, then throw on a 100 shot and be done

have a sponsor build you a nice 402 or 408 bottom that you can use your current heads on, maybe a little reworking and a larger cam. then like said above, throw a little spray and be done!. hell get the bottom end built stout enough and you could put a 200 shot through it.

you'll need a LS2 block or LQ4/9 block to go 408. Then put a set of cnc ported Ls3 heads and top end, a stout cam and you should be there. Either that or build up a 427 and you be there easily. Or the quickest way for you would be change your rod bolts to ARP2000 and slap a 150 shot on it. Good luck, let us know what ya plan to do.

78mm plate kit and a 9".

then when it's time for a new bottom end grab the TSP 383 stroker kit. it's around $2k.

Ive been wondering how often people go with resleeving their ls1s now? though im sure that would cost twice as much if i decided to just go with buying a ls2 block and going from there :/

You can find an LS2 block at a decent price if you shop craigslist and the classifieds.

you can find a 6.0L block cheaper and easier then re-sleeving a LS1 block.

i believe an ls1 can stretch out to 393ci. however, if you are wanting 550whp n/a i'd be looking at an aggressive 408+ inch setup. you'll need an lq series engine (or ls2). lq4 would be the cheapest, as you will only reuse the block and possibly the crank.
