oil pump rebuilding The oil pump on my '01 5.3 looks the same as the Ls6 pump. It has 170,xxx on it. What wears out on the pumps? Can I inspect and freshen it up then port and polish it?

Hello , go to the top of this forum (gen3 internal engine ) and search for oil pump failures and on the 2nd or 3rd page there is a thread with pics and plenty of discussion ......etc Good luck
