rebuilt 383 stroker LS1 knocking noise help!
when i picked it up, i noticed a slight knocking noise coming from the passenger side. i took it back and asked my tuner. he said it sounds orite and told me to check it on a cold start to see if theres a knocking sound still there.
so the next day i wake up and turn her on. when its cold no knocking noise. after its all warmed up maybe roughly 20mins after start up, the knocking comes back. i told my tune and he said it sounds like the pushrods are to short.
i asked him if we should change it and said it will be fine.
i dont want to do an damage to my new motor, but if it is and pushrods the wrong size (too short). will it do any damage?
heres too vids:
cant realy hear it over the glimer belt... as i walk away you can hear the valvetrain noise!

You will be fine
my tuner explained to me, when the motor is cold everything is fine. as it warms up, everything expands from the heat. the pushrods dont expand and stay the same length which is cuaseing the slight ticking noise.

Im not sure but that strikes me as wrong. why would the push rod not heat up and expand? if anything I would think that when it got hot it would be queiter since everything would expand and take up any slop.
Am I wrong?
