Another stock rod bolt question.
My concern is I have read that the 98 rod bolts are weaker than the newer ls1 rod bolts, any confirmation that this is true?
My next question is that the car has 90k mile approx. and we are looking for mid 400's at the wheels. Plan on turning the car up in rpms, my gto is set @6800 redline because texas speed said that's what they usually set their cars at and haven't had any issues. How hard are the rod bolts to change?
One friend of mine said you have to pull the engine, are they just bolts or are they studs and nuts? I've never torn that part down on these cars. I also don't know what its like up under the camaro. I know getting the oil pan off my gto was a nightmare.
I've check out ARP at where I work, what is better ARP or Katech?
Thanks guys.
