Can either or be used?
I guess what are the odds and ends to using either?

thats a good ? I honeslty dont see a difference in them.. so i dont see why you wouldnt be able to use it... but im no master when it comes to internals!

The total seal rings second ring is iron the diamond racings second ring is cast iron is what the Summit tech told me before I ordered mine. I went with the total seal since they were cheaper and in the techs advice were better
