Afr heads spring preassure
Afr heads spring preassure I have my heads at a machine shop and they told me that the spring seat pressure was 180 and it was very high at 600 lift. Something like 440 if I remember correctly.
What are they supposed to be for a hydraulic cam? They have the upgraded springs and the engine is a 408 w the 205 AFR heads.

Should be around 160 or so on the seat at a set-up height of 1.790 - 1.800.....this should be a dual spring with a red stripe on the outer coils (our 8019 springs).
That's the spring you want and need to run with that head....the valve is 120 grams....its not a lightweight.
Some shops may have equipment that hasn't been calibrated in a awhile....I assure you the 8019 is not 180 lbs at the height its suppose to be installed at (technically thats 1.800 from AFR but +/- .015 is acceptable).
