Default heads and cam parts question

getting ready to order the thunder racing head and cam kit with the patriot ls6 heads and the "TR TRuTorq" Level 1 - 219/224 .609/.604 115 LSA 1800-6500 RPM Power Band cam, I have a 2000 LS1 looking for good daily driver power with some oomph for track days, would the 59cc heads or 64cc heads be better and the pushrod choices are 7.375, 7.400, and 7.425 which pushrods would I need, also would I need to upgrade to an ls6 intake or fast already pushing my budget so the fast is out but might be able to swing ls6 if it's required, I called their tech line and haven't heard back from them thanks

You will like the street manners of that cam, but you may get used to the power and long for something bigger down the road. If you go with a cam that's in the mid to upper 220s on the intake/low 230s on exhaust, you will probably not get tired of it. Pushrod size depends on how much your heads have been milled, the head gasket thickness, and the lifters you run. Most likely it will be between 7.400-7.425".

Compression is your friend and higher is usually better (assuming your run 91/93 octane).

Your cam is at maximum lift when your piston is almost all the way down the cylinder. You get into P to V clearance issues as your piston approaches TDC. Too much duration & overlap will give you problems here, not lift. With a 59cc chamber, you probably don't want to go bigger than upper 220s on intake duration.

If you are looking into Thunder's TruTorq cams, and going with Patrick G advice, I'd really recommend their level 4 cam 227/234 .616/.614 115 LSA

I'm a big fan of that cam..... just if it had 111 LSA

However, it will still be a great cam for a daily driven car.
