The hardened pushrods are required if you use rockers the have guideplates.

excuse me for not reading all the posts, I'll go back, but a bent pushrod could get sideways in the rocker and keep it over lifted when the cylinder comes up and that would put a major nick in the piston if not break the valve, the pic below is what happened to mine, its what you dont want, and if still useing your stock pushrods I'm sure you will get at least one of these, I'll even bet money the pushrods you have now are allready bent, check them when you pull um
