Default Help with getting cam out

I've got the cam almost all the way out, about 2" to go. I can see the last lobe. "LS1 how to" says to lift up the AC condenser but I don't know how in the hell I'm going to lift it up that far without kinking the lines. I can move it about 5" up at most but it doesn't give me nearly enough clearance.

Carefully work the cam back in until it is sitting on the bearing journals and not the lobes. Then figure out the condenser. I have a Vette so won't be much help with the condenser but don't leave the cam hanging in the bearings so the lobes are in contact.

I just removed my condenser (my a/c needed to be recharged anyways) a couple people told me you had to remove it to get the cam out but I've personally never tried with it still in the car.

I could have sworn people do this without removing it but I don't see how unless i'm missing something. I'd love to save the $100 and not have to recharge my system.

Figured it out. Didn't realize you have to unsnap one side of that stupid plastic baffle in front of the condenser THEN pivot it up and out of the way.

You can pivot it down as well.

To me it seemed way easier to push it down and put less stress on the lines. It didn't have to go that far to be out of the way.

Never thought to try and push it down. There really wasn't much resistance pushing it up, I just let it rest on top of the power steering pump I had tied off. I wish they would have mentioned unsnapping that baffle in LS1howto, would have saved me a few hours. I guess you don't have to do that on a vette?
