Why am i not making THAT much hp?? you can look at my mods in my sig, i have 6k miles so the engine isnt broken in all the way, i also have the stock heads but they are fully ported at polished (Stage 2) Shouldnt I be making around 420 RWHP atleast????

Re: Why am i not making THAT much hp?? Those numbers are good numbers. Don't compare your numbers to numbers you have seen on the board. With your mods you are making good power. Take the car to the track.( if thats your thing)Did you do a before dyno? I have pretty much the same combo and run 11.70 on motor and a 10.70 on a 100 shot.

Re: Why am i not making THAT much hp?? speed inc did it, they do awesome work, i just think the combo of being the stock heads and a non broken in motor adds to the lack of 10-15 hp.

Re: Why am i not making THAT much hp?? You never mentioned what you have for an exhaust system after the headers. If it is stock sized this doesn't help when you have over 450FWHP. Track times tell more of a story than the dyno anyway. See what it runs at the track and look at your MPH.

Re: Why am i not making THAT much hp?? Don't worry about dyno numbers. Use your MPH at the track as the proof of you power. I take most of the internet stuff with a grain of salt. I see posts every now and then about some magical cam and bolt-ons netting 430+RWHP. I know what my car has, specs/parts and such. So when I see these guys claiming more power then my aggressive stage 2 ARE H/C package, with only a cam and a few bolt ons I just laugh. Don't worry, trust 1/4 MPH on a GOOD TRACK!

Re: Why am i not making THAT much hp?? Cats hold you back even if you have a high flow cat.SLP headers arent the best LT on the market also.Most people run an FLP or Grot style LT.

Re: Why am i not making THAT much hp?? You made very good real numbers! Be happy. Any one can sell or make you a dyno sheet, I bet you the car runs great. If you want to see the **** hit the fan, have everyone go to a dyno that dosen't install or sell parts! Another words who doesn't care if you make 5 hp or 5000hp. Then you would get some interesting results. Shops are doing great on making power out of a awsome engine. Everyone just wants to be the shop that makes the most power= the most money. Don't feel like you got short changed. You didn't. Andy.

Re: Why am i not making THAT much hp?? screw the dyno. my car only makes 353 rwhp, but i trap 112 in 3000' of air, and 114 in 1700' of air through an unlocked TCS 4400 converter. another guy makes almost 400 rwhp but only traps around 111-112 in 1700' of air through an unlocked st-3500. take it to the track <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Re: Why am i not making THAT much hp?? I think everyone here has covered all the bases. Your numbers really arent bad...there are a few areas where you might be able to squeeze a few more ponies out, but nothing about your setup screams that there is a problem.
The one thing I wanted to say though, is that the terms "Stage 1", "Stage 2" really doesnt mean anything. One companies Stage 2 heads could be another companies Stage 1 heads. Its just a marketing term. Like everyone else has said, get another 4k or so miles on your car, remove your cats, and Im sure you'll be around 415RWHP or so...and thats NOTHING to complain about! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
