Default Pushrod math.

I just did a head and cam on this 2002 LS1 motor.

The heads are TSP Terminator heads milled to 60cc.

EPS 226/226 cam

New Ls7 Lifters.

Using a pushrod checker, I got 9 turns to zero lash. That would put it at 7.250

add 0.080 for preload that puts it at 7.33

So should I order 7.325 Pushrods?

Based on your measurements and desired preload, those should work.

Sounds right to me! Did you check an intake and exhaust on each bank?

You often times find them setup with around .100" out of the box from GM. Setting them up with about .050-.090" is fine

I find that amazing. Comp recommends around .030 for their stuff...which really sounds reasonable to me. I wonder how much preload is available before the piston bottoms in the lifter bore? Worth measuring to find out. If the plunger is that deep, it makes me also wonder if that's why so many of these valvetrains are noisy with bigger cams.

Keep in mind a Comp lifter is different than GM. Some of Comp's require very specific preload in the range of .002-.006", and thereby basically require adjustable rockers to setup properly. The GM lifters on this platform have been measured to have as much as .125"+ of travel!

Right. Like I said GM lifters, which is what the original poster is running, have a very long travel. Comp do not all have the long travel, but some of theirs do too!

I did both heads, both intake and exhaust. All came pretty close.
