Default What to look for in a shortblock?

Hey everyone, as the title says, I am wondering what does everyone look for in a shortblock (LS motors of course). And not just what brands of parts and all, but what stroke, rod length, piston type, etc. I am just trying to get a feel what to look for in one of these. Also, what's a good price to be looking for? Is it all dependent on what parts are used? Thanks for the help.

I'm working on getting a short block... The main thing I'm after is better connecting rods and forged pistons that are coated.

What your looking for depends on what kind of power you want to make?

First thing I would look for is reputation of the builder. Best parts in the wrong hands won't help.
