Car runs rough at idel whats wrong ??? HELP!!! So i was drivin the other day and my buddies tempted me to light em up and i did so and after that the car stared running real rough, at an idel u gotta give it gas to keep her alive and to start it you gotta put the gas pedal to the floor now, it sounds like a miss in the motor too, car will run i drove it 15 miles back to my house, i was wondering if it mite be the fuel pump or somthing witht he fueling system, car is smokin now too. what do you think ????
check your spark plug wires. many times they will look ok but be completely brittle and charred inside and thus broken. Also, vacuum leak could be causing the idle to be too low and the pcm can't compensate and this will cause the idle to bounce a bit and die. smoke makes me think spark plugs not firing though.
unless it's more serious and you've got a blown gasket and are now burning lots of oil. But that would cause blueish smoke.

ok, it just seems like the cars not gettin any gas too, yesterday to start it i had to put the pedal to the floor, today i just turned the key and it tured over a few times then started, it ran without me touchin the gas but still very rough.
