well im putting together a LQ4 for my truck. i just got a set of 243 heads and i plan on sending them to ADVANCED INDUCTIONS to get there 226cc package. im goin to have them milled to 60cc and doin a set of the PSI MAXLIFE valve springs they offer.
my main question is im trying to figure out if i should have PAT G grind me a cam or just have AI grind the cam. im kinda leaning towards PAT G only cause thats his forta.

If you want something ideal, in all cases, we need to provide the camshaft. A true custom grind cam is going to have superior longevity, more RPM head room, and make as much or more power without being as aggressive as the lobes typically run. Moreover, we perform 100% QC in house to ensure your setup simply bolts together with adequate p2v. You may certainly simply purchase the same comp grinds most everyone runs, but their tolerance is so wide that there is no way to guarantee you won't end up having to swap cams or cut reliefs if we attempt to make the head ideal for your setup. The only solution is to sacrifice a bit via giving up compression, or for you to send the camshaft in so we can at least physically check it and determine what it actually is.
In the end, there is no comparison between a professionally designed/selected and QC'd grind based on your specific setup, and the typical Comp ground cam. That isn't to say that the latter cannot work well, but we can go a long way towards mitigating the risk incurred when you get into an interference engine.
Hope that helps, thanks for your interest!

If you are physically ill, who do you think has a higher probability of providing an accurate diagnosis/solution: Gents who due to proximity have no ability to physically ascertain what they are working with, or a medical professional who can physically determine precisely what you have?
