valves out of a 2k camaro in a 2003 z06???
ok so im a tightwad on cash and had a old set of heads from a 2000 camaro ls1. and i have my other heads off a 2003 z06. i noticed that the valves off the z06 are .6mm (.023622") longer. i installed the valves from the camaro into the z06 due to the z06 bent some valves. would i be able to just buy the .025 longer push rods to make up the diffrence and be ok.. thanks for the help
the diffrence is .002, was thinking that the lifter might be able to take up the slack, i dont want to deystroy my cam or have engine damage. just wondering if anyone has tried this before. so if i have to i would get new valves.
Is this going to be installed on an LS6 with the factory camshaft? The reason the LS6 valves are longer is to make up for the reduced base circle of the stock LS6 cam. This allowed them to retain the same pushrod length as all other Gen 3 engines.
