Default Where should I set my rev limiter at?

I just installed a new cam 224/224 581/581 on a 112, hardened pushrods and 918 springs. I also have all bolt ons. Wondering what I should set my rev limiter at I really don't want to over rev my engine. Also where would you expect best shift points to be.

This will be kinda tough to answer accurately without a dyno graph of your new curve to look at. Without it, it's purely speculation. I would imagine you'll be ok to around 6-6200 but that's purely a guess. I see you live in P.Pines. I graduated from Cooper City in 1990. South Florida was getting just too hectic for me to stay down there after H.S.

You're good to set it at 6600 and shift at 6500. Some people would even set it higher with that cam.

I lived here 10 years ago and decided I had to move back here to finish college. I'm planning on getting it dynoed to find out were I really need to set it. But, until then I just want to make sure I don't over rev the engine. Thanks Jessie

Hey what's up Jesse! Your good friend Jonas is in about 2 of my classes at OU. He was telling me about your cam install. Congrats on getting it done. How hard was it? Also what internet write ups did you use if any? I got tempted by hearing about your cam to buy a cam. I bought a little smaller cam then yours, but its the MTI T1 221/221/.558/.558/112 lsa. I was wondering how your car was acting at idle. Is it okay, or does it tend to die alot. This is the only thing that was worrying me about going to the 112. Also any problems with the car dying with the ac on. Anyway, hopefully when I get my cam, Jonas said that he would help me out with the install. So teach him everything he needs to know when he comes to visit you! <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

I'd shift at or below 6600 if you want to keep your shortblock alive for as much as time as possible. 6800-7000 is pretty much for the hardcore guy who doesn't mind pulling the motor within two years to freshen up the shortblock.

Hakan whats up man, you are going to love the cam, my car is running perfect idles without any problems. I ran it with the ac on today it idled fine but, you need to add a little more power when letting out of clutch in first gear with the ac on. It never died but it did start falling on its face. But as for teaching Jonas anythig he is a hard headed sob, so thats nearly impossible. I'm just kidding he knows how to install the cam on my car I called him about a 1000 times during the install to ask him questions. Check out his huge cell bill. But ask Jonas for the sight where I got the instruction for the install he's the one that showed me.
