Is this a good deal for an LQ4 engine? Hey guys, new here but have been reading the forum for awhile. I'm contemplating doing a carbed LQ4 to go into a muscle car project and they seem scarce up here in western Canada but i finally found 1.
Its listed as
GM 6.0L TRUCK ENGINE OUT OF A 2000 SUBERBAN, 240K, BURNS A BIT OF OIL. CAN BE HEARD RUNNING IN TRUCK. And they're asking $350 for it.
Does this seem like an alright deal? I think the only difference with these early ones are it has iron heads? Any thoughts on the burning oil?

Id ****** it up. Thats cheap throw some news pisons and rings have it honed new gaskets and cam and you will still be under buying one with low miles for 1500. Just do your shopping and you can score good deals. I wouldnt hesitate if it were me.
No, it has lower comp pistons. OP that sounds like a good deal if your willing to freshen up evrything. If you wantin a drop in type with no re work involved, well...
